This class takes a curative approach to Classical Yoga (as taught by Dharma Mittra) and Ashtanga Yoga (as mentored by P. Jois).  Every class will focus on alignment, the chakras, and applying principles from the 8 Limbs of Yoga. The class is designed to support the whole body physically, mentally, and energetically. This is not "power yoga". 

Nina Be was trained by Melanie Fawer, one of the first women to be certified by P. Jois as a teacher of the Ashtanga Technique. After experiencing life-changing results in her Self with regards to chronic depression, anxiety, and PTSD, Nina requested permission to teach the Ashtanga Primary series from her teacher in order to empower others to find their own MindBody freedom. As a trained classical dancer and student of Thich Nhat Hanh, Nina teachers from a perspective of deep anatomical alignment and compassion. She is thrilled to offer this unique orientation to Ashtanga, which is often inaccurately perceived as brutal exercise rather than a path to grace: "It has been nothing short of miraculous and a pleasure, mentoring this powerful pure practice to hundreds of dedicated students for the past decade. It is my wish to inspire others to come to the mat and realize that that is all. There is nowhere to go, nothing to do."
